Anatoly Siwak

Anatoly Alexandrovich Siwak ( Belarusian Анатоль Аляксандравіч Сівак Anatol Aljaksandrawitsch Siwak , Russian Анатолий Александрович Сивак * 19th July 1962 in a village in Naroulia District , Byelorussian SSR ) is the mayor of the city of Minsk . The exact title is head of the Minsk City Executive Committee ( Минский городской исполнительный комитет , or Мингорисполком for short).

He studied at the Belarusian Railway Transport Institute in Homel until 1986 and then worked for a construction company of the Belarusian Railway . From 2002 to 2006 he was the deputy head of the Belarusian Railway. After that he worked as an assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus (chief inspector for Minsk). From 2009 to 2012 Siwak headed the Belarusian Railway and from 2012 he was Minister of Transport and Communication of the Republic of Belarus.

In November 2018, Siwak was appointed head of the Minsk City Executive Committee. His predecessor as Minsk mayor was Andrej Schorez .
