Anatoly Nedovintschanyj

Anatoly Oleksandrowytsch Nedowintschanyj ( Ukrainian Анатолій Олександрович Недовінчаний * 22. March 1938 in Hajiwschtschyna , Rajon Lokhvytsia , Poltava , Ukrainian SSR ; † 26. April 2019 in Myrhorod , Ukraine ) was a Ukrainian composer and poet.

Life

Anatoly Nedovintschanyj attended the vocational school for culture in Hadjach , the music college in Lutsk and the pedagogical college (music) in Rivne . He then worked as a music teacher (accordion) and music school director in Lochwyzja . From 1965 he was active as a composer.

Made famous through the publication of more than 50 self-written and composed songs and music for the hymn of the city of Lochwyzja. The last work was his autobiographical poem "Echoes of Memories" in which he describes his life after the Second World War, hunger, need and poverty, which was all very painful and his whole generation could identify with it. The themes of his songs were mostly love, grief and pain over loss of family members. In the 1980s he founded the musical duet "Golden Autumn" with his wife Kateryna and toured the country with his concerts until the very end. His songs were played on television and radio on holidays and other occasions.

He died at the age of 81 in Myrhorod and was buried at his own request in Hajiwschtschyna, his birthplace.

Honors

With the decree of the President of Ukraine of November 7, 2014, he was awarded the honorary title "Honored Cultural Worker" for a significant personal contribution to the development of national culture and art as well as for a significant professionalism.

Fund

In 2019 the Nedovintschanyj family founded a charity fund "Golden Autumn" to support gifted children (music, art and electronics workshop) in the composer's birthplace.

Nedovintschanyj was married to the teacher and ex-politician Kateryna Petrivna and had a daughter and a son.
