Andal Ampatuan senior
Andal Ampatuan senior (* 1940 or 1941; † July 17, 2015 in Quezon City ) was a Filipino politician, the governor of Maguindanao Province and patriarch of the Ampatuan clan until 2009 . He came to power in the course of the EDSA revolution against the dictator Ferdinand Marcos in 1986.
He had sons Zaldy Ampatuan , Datu Ulo Ampatuan and Andal Ampatuan junior, the latter being the prime suspect in the 2009 Maguindanao massacre . As a result of the investigation, he and his sons were expelled from the party of former President Gloria Arroyo . On August 29, 2012, the police arrested his son Datu Ulo Ampatuan. In addition to Andal Ampatuan Sr. and 97 accomplices, all three sons were arrested.
