Zaldy Ampatuan

Zaldy Uy Ampatuan (born August 22, 1967 ) is a Filipino politician. He was the governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) from 2005 to 2009.

He is one of the sons of the politician Andal Ampatuan senior and former chairman of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats for the ARMM region. He was dismissed in late 2009 when his brother, Andal Ampatuan Jr. , was found responsible for the Maguindanao massacre . He was arrested as one of the main suspects and was on remand; however, in April 2010 the lawsuit against him was dropped and he and his uncle Akmad Ampatuan were removed from the list of suspects.
