Andchoi ( Dari / Uzbek :اندخوی, also Andkhui ) is a city in Faryab Province in northwestern Afghanistan. The population of the city is 37,100 (2004). The district is in the north of the province. The northern border is the national border with Turkmenistan . There is a road that takes them to the town of Kerki across the border 100 kilometers away.
climate
Andchoi is influenced by the steppe climate. In Andchoi, there is comparatively little rainfall throughout the year. BSk is the Köppen-Geiger climate classification. The annual average temperature in Andchoi is 15.6 ° C. Over the year, the average rainfall is 281 mm.
history
At the beginning of the 18th century, the Bukhara Khanate ruled the city, but lost power and the locally ruling Ming Amirs became more visible from 1707 onwards.
The area was assigned to Afghanistan by a Russian-Afghan border commission in 1885.
