Kerki ( Russian Керки ), formerly Atamyrat ( Russian Атамурат Atamurat ), is a city in eastern Turkmenistan in the Lebap province . The estimated population for 2013 is 31,580 people, in the 1989 census 19,747 people were counted.

Kerki on the left bank of the Amu Darya opposite Kerkiçi . The two places are connected by a railway bridge, and there are also railway connections to Turkmenabat , Qarshi and Termiz in Uzbekistan and Aqina in Afghanistan .

The place has been known since the 10th century. The Astana Baba mausoleum is an important pilgrimage site near Kerki. Kerki was granted town charter in 1925. From 1999 to 2017 the town was named Atamyrat, after the father of the former Turkmen President Saparmyrat Nyýazow .
