Kərki (also Karki ; Armenian Տիգրանաշեն , Tigranaschen ) is a village belonging to Azerbaijan under international law and surrounded by Armenian territory, which is occupied by Armenia and administered by the province of Ararat . In May 1992, during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict , Karki, an Azerbaijani exclave , was occupied by the armed forces of Armenia . The M2 connecting road , which connects Yerevan and southeastern Armenia, runs through the village . Most of the residents today are Armenians who had to leave Azerbaijan during the war. The village has been renamed Tigranaschen .
