Anders Orth (* 1962 in Mönchengladbach ) is a German musician, composer, author, actor and director.

Life

Orth passed the Abitur in 1982 at the Hugo-Junkers-Gymnasium in Mönchengladbach-Rheydt. From 1984 to 1989 he studied music (guitar, piano and singing) and German (focus: theater) at the EZW faculty in Cologne. He also received private drum lessons from Swiss drummer Beat Foster. He also plays the accordion, mandolin and bass.

Orth had his first appearances from 1982 with the German-Turkish music group "Sehnsucht" and from 1984 with the German-Turkish band "Yarinistan / Morgenland", which he co-founded. In 1985 he founded the children's songs / hands-on / theater "Lila Lindwurm", with which he has performed over 3,000 appearances throughout Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Austria and Switzerland. Nine children's song play-in theater productions were created, for which Anders Orth wrote music and text and in some cases directed. He shared the direction of the solo programs with the Turkish director and pantomime Mehmet Fistik, with whom he also wrote the children's theater production “Nasreddin and the Robbers” and played the title role for the “Theater that moves”. In Fistik's "Karagöz auf Traumreise" he took on the role of Hacivat.

In 1992 Orth founded the music cabaret group "Die Schoppenhauer" together with the actor Philipp Seiser and the musician Tommy Weger and since 1994 has been playing with Weger in the music cabaret duo "The Last Chauvikaner". Since 2010 he has directed three programs for singer-songwriter Frank Bode in children's and cabaret.

“Lila Lindwurm”, cabaret and his work for the WDR show “1Live” was documented in a number of programs and television programs.

Anders Orth is married and has two daughters.
