Willibert Kruger

Karl Willibert Krüger (born August 25, 1940 - July 20, 2019 ) was a German entrepreneur . He was the founder and managing partner of the Krüger Group until 2012 .

Life

After finishing school, Willibert Krüger first completed an apprenticeship as an import, export and forwarding agent. Then he decided to study business administration in Cologne . From 1964 he worked in his parents' wholesale business. In 1971 he set up instant production in an extension there. This was the year the Krüger Group was founded. Willibert Krüger started his own company with twelve employees.

Merits

Willibert Krüger, honorary citizen of Bergisch Gladbach , was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2011 . Was honored in particular its social and voluntary commitment in his hometown, a long-time major sponsor of SV Bergisch Gladbach 09 , a board member of citizenship, honorary commercial judge at the Regional Court of Cologne and as a supporter for children from low-income families. Thanks to Kruger’s support of 1 million euros, the association “Die Arche” was able to open another facility for 120 children in Cologne. On November 6, 2015, Krüger was awarded the Golden Sugar Loaf by the Lebensmittel Zeitung .

Willibert Krüger was Vice President of the Cologne Chamber of Commerce and Industry , Chairman of the IHK Foreign Trade Committee, Chairman of the IHK Rhein-Berg Advisory Assembly, Chairman of the Bergisch Gladbach IHK Economic Committee and member of the founding advisory board of the Bergisch Gladbach University of Applied Sciences.
