John Kevin Boland

John Kevin Boland (born April 25, 1935 in Monkstown , County Cork , Ireland ) is former Bishop of Savannah .

Life

John Kevin Boland, one of four brothers, was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Savannah on June 14, 1959 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Savannah on February 7, 1995. The Archbishop of Atlanta , John Francis Donoghue , ordained him episcopal on April 18 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Raymond James Boland , Bishop of Kansas City-Saint Joseph , and Raymond William Lessard , Bishop Emeritus of Savannah.

On July 19, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.

His older brother Raymond James Boland was Bishop of Kansas City-Saint Joseph.
