Pehrson is different
Karl Anders Pehrson (born September 19, 1912 in Gothenburg ; † July 14, 1982 ) was a Swedish industrial designer of lights in Scandinavian design , which is assigned to the style of the mid-century modern .
Life
After studying engineering in Gothenburg, Pehrson worked from 1952 to 1963 as a design manager and designer at AB Philips . From 1963 to 1978 he headed the Ateljé Lyktan ( German Atelier Laterne ) in Åhus , where he focused on work lighting in public and industrial environments.
Pehrson's works Skrivbordslampa , Golvlampa , Supertube and his most famous design Bumling are exhibited in the Swedish National Museum.
Bumling (German [ Fels- ] Brocken) from 1968 developed into a Swedish design classic and was built in six different sizes with diameters of 190, 50, 300, 400, 485 and 600 mm. The metal body of the lamp was offered in a variety of colors and was soon internationally successful.
For the 1972 Summer Olympics , the atelier supplied 16,300 table and floor lamps of the type number 591 and number 781 Simris for the interior lighting of the Olympic Village in Munich . Anders Pehrson designed the original models in 1964. In terms of the number of pieces, this was the largest order in the company's history of his studio.
