The Anderson nunatakkers are a group of nunatakers in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland that form the northeastern end of the Sweeney Mountains .
They were discovered and photographed during the US Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947–1948). The United States Geological Survey mapped them on the basis of their own surveys and with the help of aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1961 and 1967. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the Nunatakker after Richard E. Anderson, aircraft electronics technician during the reconnaissance flights on board an R4D in 1961, including the November 4th flight between Byrd Station and the Eights Coast .
