The Anderson Creek is a creek in the southern Australian state of Victoria .

It is a tributary of the Yarra River and flows through the small towns of Warrandyte and Park Orchards . Tens of thousands of years, he served the Wurundjeri , an Aboriginal strain of Kulin , the Woiwurrung spoke as food and utility source.

The river rises in the hills north of Ringwood on the border of the city of Melbourne and flows first three kilometers of Park Orchards and then about four kilometers through Warrandyte before going into the Yarra River empties .

The stream is largely unregulated and often overflows its banks after heavy rain. It provides a habitat for important animal species, for example the platypus , the golden-bellied swimming rat , the koala , an Australian powerful owl , the red-backed heron, the white-winged raven and the yellow-tailed black cockatoo .

Gold was found in Andersons Creek near what is now Warrandyte State Park, and the small town of Warrandyte was originally named after this creek. Even today you can still find gold in the brook; Gold panning is allowed on a small stretch of its course near the park (see: Victorian Gold Rush ).
