András Ozsvár

András Ozsvár (born February 19, 1957 in Csongrád ) is a former Hungarian judoka . He competed in the heavyweight and open classes.

Ozsvár was the 1977 junior European heavyweight champion. In 1979 he won the first of six Hungarian championship titles. At the European Championships in 1980 , he finished fifth in the open class. Even with the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow came Ozsvár in the open class. In the last sixteen he defeated the Belgian Olympic light heavyweight champion Robert Van de Walle , but was then defeated in the quarterfinals against the Frenchman Angelo Parisi , the Olympic heavyweight champion. András Ozsvár won the battle for bronze against the Soviet heavyweight Olympic champion from 1976 Sergei Novikow .

At the European Championships in 1981 Ozsvár won the bronze medal in the open class, and he also received bronze at the World Championships in 1981 . Oszvár won his last international medal at the 1983 World Championships in Moscow in the open class. After his quarterfinal defeat against Vladimir Kocman from Czechoslovakia, Ozsvár fought his way to the bronze medal with two wins in the round of hope.

The 1.82 m tall András Ozsvár started for Honvéd Budapest .
