André Cintra Pereira (born March 22, 1979 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian Paralympic snowboarder and disabled athlete .

Career

Cintra lost his left leg in an accident in 1997 at the age of 18. He started his active career in 2009 with wakeboarding in disabled sports competitions. Since January 2013 he has been competing in various Paralympic snowboard competitions for Brazil. and in the same year at the Nordic Disabled Ski World Championships in Sollefteå in April 2013, 18th among the 32 participating snowboarders.

In spring 2014 he was the first athlete in Brazilian Paralympic history to be appointed to the team for the Winter Paralympics in Sochi . He was next to the cross-country skier Fernando Aranha Rocha , the first participant for Brazil in the history of the association in disabled sports at the winter Paralympics. There he was the flag bearer at the opening on March 7, 2014 as part of the entry ceremony .
