Alex Behning (* 7. October 1968 as Alexander Frederick in Wilster ) is a German singer and songwriter .

Life

Behning was the singer and songwriter of the Hamburg band Neulich, with whom he won prizes such as the John Lennon Talent Award and the VW Soundfoundation. He convinced experts from the music industry from Smudo ( Die Fantastischen Vier ), Edo Zanki to Klaus Meine ( Scorpions ) and played a. a. Appearances at Popkomm , the Taubertal Festival , in the opening act of Gentleman , Liquido , the Bananafishbones and a live TV appearance on GIGA TV .

As an artist he worked with Frank Bornemann (Eloy), Dirk Riegner ( Guano Apes ) and Modo Bierkamp ( Die Prinzen , Donots ). With another band called "EDDIE E" (with Marco Schmedtje, Georg Schröder and Arne Jens) he performed a. a. at Wacken Open Air .

His blues folk album Hinterhofschuhe from New York , released in 2014, has been nominated twice for the list of the best at the German Record Critics' Prize, while the song Departure to Liverpool made it to number 1 on the German list of best songs.

On October 7, 2016, Alex Behning released his album Trickster und Propheten , which was also nominated for the list of the best at the German Record Critics' Award and with the song Die Hand die das Geld received the song, it climbed to 10th place on the best list of songs for December 2016.

His third album Streunen ohne Schnur will be on sale from May 2020. It was produced by Dinesh Ketelsen.
