Frank Bornemann

Frank Bornemann (born April 27, 1945 in Hanover ) is a German musician and producer. He is the founder of the art rock band Eloy and founder of the Horus Sound Studios in Hanover.

Life

Frank Bornemann has been active as a musician since the early 1960s. In 1969 he founded the art rock band Eloy , with which he became internationally known. As the discoverer and producer of the guano apes , he also enjoyed great success as a producer. Bornemann also founded a music publisher and the Artist Station record company, and is active in promoting young talent. After a break of 11 years, Frank Bornemann released a new studio album with Eloy at the request of many fans in 2009 and has been touring and concerts with the band again since then. However, this poses a certain logistical challenge: All the current members of the band (including the long-time bassist Klaus-Peter Matziol , who works full-time as managing director of the Peter Rieger concert agency) are very busy and live all over Germany. According to Bornemann, it is therefore no longer the same band as it was before, when all members lived in or around Hanover and could meet several times a week to rehearse.

Bornemann himself lives alternately in Hanover and France.

Horus Sound Studios

In 1979 Frank Bornemann founded the Horus Sound Studio in Hanover. The studio is divided into three areas, Studio Enterprise 1 , Record Place Studio 2 and the Livingroom Studio . The studio has three recording rooms and two apartments. Artists like Die Happy , Helloween , Revolverheld , Emil Bulls , Guano Apes , ZSK or … And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead recorded albums in the studio . Bornemann withdrew from the business at the beginning of 2014. Since then, the new partners of Horus have been the producers Mirko Hofmann and Arne Neurand, who by then had many years of experience in this studio. Henning Rümenapp , guitarist of Guano Apes, will remain managing director and partner .
