André Grab (2005)

André Grab (* 1952 ) is a Swiss writer .

Life

The son of the Swiss painter and surrealist Walter Grab (1927–1989) lives in Zurich . After completing his bookseller apprenticeship in the bookshop zum Elsässer in Zurich (1969–1971), a longer stay in North Africa (1972), he worked in the bookshop Dr. Oprecht (1973–1974) and then as a partner in the bookstore HU Zbinden & Co., which he took over in 1986 and ran until 1996. From 1997 to October 2016 he worked in the licensing area of Mascotte Film AG in Zurich. From December 1, 2013 to July 31, 2018, he was Managing Director of LZE Vertriebs GmbH in Essen, Germany and, from November 2016 to June 30, 2018, Director of Impérial Films SA in Lausanne and was responsible for the film productions and world sales of the German Labels Magmafilm and Tabu Film .

From August 1, 2018, he will devote himself exclusively to writing. New book projects are being planned (accompanying texts in art books and publication of his early works in the Amazon Kindle version).

From the end of the 1970s he regularly published short stories, columns and reports in Swiss newspapers (including Volksrecht , Tagesanzeiger der Stadt Zürich ), was editor of the specialist magazine booksellers for six years and president of the Association of Employees of the Swiss Book Trade for three years. In the field of cultural policy, he was involved in the education committee of the Social Democratic Party, from which he left in 1987. Since 1989 he has regularly published stories, columns and articles under two pseudonyms in German-language magazines, newspapers and book publications. These pseudonyms are no longer available as of July 30, 2018. Only articles will be published under the real name.
