André Michael Toschke

André Michael Toschke (born February 17, 1972 in Recklinghausen ; † February 2, 2011 ) was a German physician and professor of biometrics with a focus on observational studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

Life

Toschke was a Roman Catholic and grew up in Datteln in the parish of St. Amandus. He was a grandson of Georg Toschke (holder of the city badge Datteln) and Antonia Toschke (first doctor at the Vestische Kinder- und Jugendklinik Datteln ).

From 1978 to 1991 Toschke attended the Lohschule Datteln (Catholic elementary school) and the municipal high school Datteln, which he left with the Abitur. Toschke then began studying human medicine and submitted his doctoral thesis at the University of Essen in 2000 . From 2003 to 2006 he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Social Pediatrics, Epidemiology Department, Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and studied statistics (M.Sc.) in parallel until 2005. In 2006 he completed his habilitation in epidemiology and in 2009 became professor of biometrics with a focus on observational studies at the LMU. He died on February 2nd, 2011 after a long and serious illness.
