André Nguyên Van Nam
André Nguyên Van Nam (born February 24, 1922 in Thanh My An ; † March 16, 2006 ) was a Roman Catholic priest and last between 1989 and 1999 Bishop of Mỹ Tho .
Life
After visiting a seminary Nguyên Van Nam received the on March 29, 1952 ordination . After more than twenty years of priesthood, he was appointed coadjutor of the diocese of Mỹ Tho on June 6, 1975 and at the same time titular bishop of Puppi . Four days later, on June 10, 1975, the then Bishop of Mỹ Tho, Joseph Trãn-Vãn-Thiên , donated him episcopal ordination .
On February 24, 1989, he succeeded Joseph Trãn-Vãn-Thiên and finally became Bishop of Mỹ Tho himself and held this office for more than ten years until his resignation on March 26, 1999. He was succeeded as bishop by Paul Bùi Van Ðoc .
