André Vladimir Heiz

André Vladimir Heiz (born August 27, 1951 in Langenthal ) is a Swiss writer , lecturer in semiotics and a design theorist. He also makes pictorial signs.

Since his "sentence on the total work of art" for Harald Szeemann, the literary and painterly, theoretical and practical works of André Vladimir Heiz have revolved around the sign.

Oscillating between his mother tongue, French, and his father tongue, German, he writes and draws "double".

André Vladimir Heiz teaches semiotics and design methodology at the Cantonal University of Art and Design, ECAL in Lausanne in French-speaking Switzerland .

He is the editor of a series of paperbacks for designers, a comprehensive, practice-oriented "Grammar of Applied and Fine Arts".

In 2007 and 2008 he was a member of the jury for the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize at the Days of German Language Literature in Klagenfurt .
