Andrés Aviñó Soler

Andrés Aviñó Soler (born January 24, 1914 in Valencia , † January 14, 2006 in Camagüey ) was a Cuban diplomat . From 1961 to 1963 he was the first diplomatic representative of the Republic of Cuba in the GDR .

Life

Andrés Aviñó Soler was Chargé d'affaires ai of the Republic of Cuba in the Republic of the Philippines until October 1961 . After the agreement between Cuba and the GDR on the opening of diplomatic missions in August 1960, Aviñó Soler took up his duties as the acting head of the Mission of the Republic of Cuba in the GDR in December 1961 with the rank of Legation Councilor. After diplomatic relations had been established between Cuba and the GDR on January 12, 1963, he was appointed chargé d'affaires for the Republic of Cuba in the GDR. He only held this position for a few months. On May 10, 1963, he made his farewell visits to leading GDR politicians.
