Andrés "Andy" Muschietti , (born August 26, 1973 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine film director , screenwriter and actor .

Live and act

After his horror short film Mama caused a sensation in 2008 , Guillermo del Toro gave him a budget of $ 15 million as a producer for a full-length version of Mama starring Jessica Chastain and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau . The film was very successful in the United States , with sales of almost 100 million worldwide by March 2013. In September 2017 his film Es , based on the novel by Stephen King of the same name , was released and continued with Es Chapter 2 in 2019 .

In 2018 he was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
