Andranik Migranjan (Armenian: Անդրանիկ Միհրանյան; Russian: Андраник Мигранян; born February 10, 1949 in Yerevan , Armenia ) is a Russian political scientist who works as a professor at the Moscow State Institute for International Relations.

Earlier life

He received his doctorate from the Institute for International Labor Movement of the Soviet Academy of Sciences , Moscow , (1978). Andranik Migranyan was visiting scholar at the Harriman Institute at Columbia University and at San Diego State University . He is the author of a number of articles, books, and hundreds of publications.

Life as a consultant

In the 90s he was an advisor to Boris Yeltsin .

From 1993 to 2000 he was a member of the Presidential Council of the Russian Federation .

From 2008 to 2015 he was director of the Institute for Democracy and Cooperation in New York, founded in 2007 .

Views of Migranjan

In 2011, during the Libyan civil war , he said there was a chance that Muammar Gaddafi would be arrested and not sent out of the country as in Egypt.

In 2013, he said that he admired Raffi Hovannisian but didn't think he would be a good politician.

In 2014, he discussed with Andrei Subov about Hitler's role and the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation , and in an article he stated that there was a difference between Hitler before 1939 and Hitler after 1939 and that Hitler was without a single drop of blood Germany with Austria and the Sudetenland and Memel with Germany connected, which Otto von Bismarck did not manage.

In 2018 he referred to hundreds of thousands of demonstrators who took part in the Armenian Velvet Revolution as "mob" (охлос, чернь и мразь).
