Andrea Morosini
Andrea Morosini (* 1558 in Venice ; † 1618 ) was a Venetian historian.
Life
Morosini wrote two volumes of the ten-volume Istorici delle cose veneziani i quali hanno scritto per publico decreto , printed in Venice between 1718 and 1722. His predecessors as chroniclers were Marcantonio Sabellico (1436–1506), Pietro Bembo (1470–1547) and Paolo Paruta ( 1540-1598). Volumes 5 and 6 by Morosini are titled Storia Vinitiana . His successors as official historians of the republic were Gianbattista Nani (1616–1678), Piero Garzoni (1645–1735) and Michele Foscarini (1632–1692).
In 1623 his brother put the two volumes to print. They were translated from Latin into Italian by Senator Girolamo Molin in 1782 and were printed as a three-volume edition by Zanatta in Venice.
