Andrea Ripa

Andrea Ripa (born January 5, 1972 in Rimini , Italy ) is an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman.

Life

Andrea Ripa studied literature at the University of Urbino and then theology and philosophy. In 2004, he received the sacrament of Holy Orders . After a study of Canon Law, he was in 2010 at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome to Dr. iur. can. PhD. In 2013 he was admitted to the Roman Rota. He taught law at the Institute for Religious Studies in Rimini, at the Theological Faculty of Lugano and at the Pontifical Lateran University . He was also a judge and judicial vicar at the diocesan court in Bologna. Since 2013 he has been active in the Congregation for the Clergy in the Vatican. Ripa was pastor in Rimini and at the parish of S. Maria delle Grazie al Trionfale in Rome.

On 12 September 2017 it appointed Pope Francis to the Under Secretary of the Congregation for the Clergy .
