Andrea Rottloff

Andrea Rottloff (* 1961 ) is a German Roman provincial archaeologist and non-fiction author.

Andrea Rottloff studied Provincial Roman Archeology, Classical Archeology , Ancient History and Medieval History at the University of Munich , where she received her doctorate in 1996 with the thesis The Roman Glasses by Augusta Vindelicum - Augsburg .

Her focus is on gender studies as well as costume, jewelry and realism studies . She works as a freelance writer and editor in these areas as well as in experimental archeology and re-enactment . Another of her main research interests is Roman glass . At times Rottloff was a lecturer in Provincial Roman Archeology at the University of Munich. In several non-fiction books for a wider audience, she has dealt with the pilgrimage of women in late antiquity and the Middle Ages , as well as with the living conditions of women in the Roman Empire .
