Andrea Stockhammer

Andrea Stockhammer (* 1971 in Vienna ) is an Austrian art historian .

Life

She studied at the University of Vienna and graduated in 1997 with a diploma. Then she worked for exhibitions. In 2001/02 she was employed in the collection for tapestries and paraments of the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. From 2002 to 2004 she was involved as curator at the Liechtenstein Museum in Vienna in the construction of the new museum. From 2006 to 2010 she worked at the Institute for Medieval Research of the Austrian Academy of Sciences on the interdisciplinary project “Inscription Landscapes” on the Upper Danube. In 2009 she received her doctorate from the University of Vienna.

In September 2010 she became director of the Landesmuseum Mainz . In 2016 she had to give up this position and has been employed in the culture department of the Ministry for Science, Further Education and Culture of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate since March 1, 2016 . there she is responsible for the UNESCO World Heritage in Rhineland-Palatinate .

She is married to the archaeologist Falko Daim (* 1953).
