Andreas Bammatter (born March 8, 1960 in Basel ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life

During his youth and his young adult life, Bammatter did youth work (cantonal management JW / BR -BS). Bammatter studied secondary teaching at the University of Basel and is now an instructor / coach. He is the business owner of BamCo Basel GmbH, a member of the board of the Association for Social Psychiatry BL, and a member of the Coop NWCH cooperative council. Between 1991 and 1996 Andreas Bammatter worked as a development worker for the Interteam organization in Namibia .

Andreas Bammatter lives in Allschwil , Canton Basel-Landschaft . He is married and has three grown children and four grandchildren.

politics

In 2004, Bammatter was elected to the residents' council of Allschwil, BL and worked there until 2017. In the 2013/14 term of office, he held the post of President of the Residents' Council. He is also on the board of the SP-Alllschwil-Schönenbuch.

After being elected to the district administrator of the canton of Basel-Landschaft in 2011 , Bammatter has waived political mandates at municipal level since 2017. He is a member of the “Justice and Security Commission” (JSK), the Arxhof Commission and the “Finding Commission Ombudsman 2020”.

His political focus is environmental policy and mobility, as well as education and health care. Since his election to the district administrator (2011, legislature), Andreas Bammatter has drafted more than 30 proposals (as of 2019). Bammatter ran for the National Council in 2019.

In February 2020, Andreas Bammatter was elected to the Allschwil municipal council (executive).
