Andreas Biefang

Andreas Biefang (born October 20, 1962 in Duisburg-Rheinhausen ) is a German historian .

Live and act

Biefang studied history, literary studies and public law at the University of Bonn , the Free University of Berlin and the University of Cologne . In 1992 he received his doctorate from the University of Cologne. His doctoral thesis on the political bourgeoisie in the 19th century was awarded the Wolf-Erich-Kellner Prize in 1993 and the Prize of the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Cologne in 1995.

Biefang is a member of the Commission for the History of Parliamentarism and Political Parties . V. There he is primarily responsible for the subject area “Parliament and the public from the late 18th century to the present”. His main research interests include the representation of power in parliamentarism.
