Andreas Busch (political scientist)

Andreas Busch (born July 30, 1962 ) is a German political scientist .

Life

Busch studied political science , economics and public law at the universities of Munich , Heidelberg and Oxford . In 1994 he received his doctorate ; the dissertation was awarded the “VMI Prize for Young Scientists” from the Baden-Württemberg Metal Industry Association. From 1995 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Heidelberg at the chair of Klaus von Beyme , where he completed his habilitation in 2002 .

In 2001 he moved to Oxford as a DAAD lecturer for German politics. From 2003 he got a position as a reader for European politics.

In 2008 he accepted the professorship for comparative political science and political economy at the University of Göttingen .

His main research interests are state activity research (particularly economic, legal and constitutional policy) and institution-centered analysis; Political economy , especially regulatory policy (especially on banks and financial markets) and comparative analysis of economic systems and network policy .

In January 2014 he was elected a full member of the Philosophical-Historical Class of the Academy of Sciences in Göttingen . There he has been chairman of the research commission "Demographic Change" since May 2014.

Busch is the son of the economist Christiane Busch-Lüty .
