Christiane Busch-Lüty

Christiane Busch-Lüty (born February 20, 1931 in Essen ; † November 22, 2010 ) was a German economist.

Life

Busch-Lüty studied economics and social sciences in Munich , Nottingham , Bonn and Freiburg im Breisgau . In 1964, her dissertation on the subject of “macroeconomic wage policy” was published. From 1967 to 1971 she was a member of the editorial team of today's Wirtschaftswoche . At the beginning of the 1970s she was a lecturer in economics and senior scientific adviser at the Army Officer's School III in Munich. From 1973 she was professor for economic and social policy at the University of the Bundeswehr in Munich . In 1977 she traveled to Israel for the first timeand dealt with life in the kibbutz . From the end of the 1970s she carried out study trips with candidate officers to Israel. In the 1980s she began to deal with environmental problems. Her scientific work focused on ecological economics and sustainability . She edited several edited volumes on these topics.

Her son Andreas Busch is a political scientist .

Honorary positions

She later took on many honorary positions at the interface between science, business and ecology. She was a board member of the Association for Ecological Economic Research and the Global Challenges Network. In addition, a joint lecture with Hans-Peter Dürr at the Verein für Socialpolitik initiated the foundation of the Association for Ecological Economy , of which she was honorary chairman. The latter dedicated the anniversary conference to her 15th anniversary.
