Giad Auto , in full form Giad Automotive Industry Co., Ltd. , is a motor vehicle manufacturer headquartered in Khartoum , Sudan . Founded in March 1997, the company is a joint venture of SMT Engineering Co., Ltd. with the state armaments company Military Industry Corporation and acts as a holding company for a total of seven subsidiaries. The company's production plants are located 50 kilometers south of the state capital in the newly built industrial city of Giad . The factory premises cover an area of 15 square kilometers . The company started work on October 26, 2000.

A source confirms that the company produces trucks under license from Renault and MAN, and passenger cars from Hyundai. The pictures of the vehicles on the company's website show that the cars bear the Hyundai logo and not the Giad logo.

Company structure

Giad Vehicles Co. Ltd.

With the founding of the holding company, Giad Vehicles started production and has been producing the Hyundai Accent and the Hyundai Sonata ever since . The buses of the brands Mercedes-Benz and Youjin were added later . One of the manufacturer's most popular models in Sudan is the Giad pick-up . Some of the vehicles are so-called CKD - kits from the Chinese Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile Company delivered.

But motorcycles of Iranian and Turkish brands as well as the Chinese brand Eugin & Modan are also manufactured here.

Giad Trucks Co. Ltd.

Giad Trucks produces buses and trucks . In addition to MAN vehicles, Renault models are also produced here. 1,400 trucks and 900 buses leave the factory buildings every year.

Giad Tractors and Agricultural Equipment Co. Ltd.

The company produces tractors and other agricultural machinery under a further subsidiary. Equipment of the brands Massey Ferguson , Sinkad and Cetinel Sanmak is produced . Current products are the Massey Ferguson MF 285 , Massey Ferguson MF 290 and Giad 285 tractors . 2500 units are produced here annually.

Giad Compressors Co. Ltd.

Giad Compressors is a small subsidiary that owns 7 hydraulic and 12 mechanical presses . The company uses it to manufacture fenders , bonnets , trunk lids and passenger cells for Toyota .

Giad Furniture and Medical Appliances Co. Ltd.

With the company founded in May 2003, the manufacturer is also represented on the medical market. Products are medical furniture as well as educational furniture for school facilities. The main materials used are wood , aluminum , plastic and fiberglass . The metallic equipment, the firm relies on a nickel - coating . On the other hand, one of the subsidiary's most important products are car seats for the physically challenged.

Giad Motor Service Co. Ltd.

Giad Motor Service is responsible for after-sales management in the group. This company is responsible for the supply of spare parts as well as the maintenance of the vehicles. In order to be able to maintain the service, there is even an international training center for future engineers and technicians .

Giad Paints Co. Ltd.

Giad Paints is responsible for painting the vehicles and vehicle parts produced. In addition to the internal use, extraordinary work is also carried out here. A total of two painting lines are operated.
