Andreas E. Richter

Andreas E. Richter (born July 18, 1945 in Adorf / Vogtl. ) Is a German fossil collector and author.

Richter moved with the family to Oettingen in Bavaria in 1951 and began collecting fossils at an early age and published in Aufschluss from the late 1960s . His main job was an engineer. From 1979 he devoted himself full-time to collecting fossils and started as a tour guide at Kosmos-Verlag. In addition to the Mesozoic of the Franconian Alb, he collected a lot in southern France, especially ammonites . He lives in Augsburg .

Richter organizes trips for fossil collectors with his wife Gabo Richter (who also worked as an illustrator on the books of Richter), trades in fossils and publishes an online magazine for fossil collectors (Leitfossil). In 1998 he founded his own publishing house, Ammon Rey.
