Andreas Fecker

Andreas Fecker (* 1950 in Konstanz ) is a German former officer ( captain ) and trained air traffic controller and writer .

Live and act

Fecker was trained as a tower and radar controller and deployed on several military bases in Europe. As part of his military use, he implemented the adaptation of military approach criteria to ICAO standards in Europe and initiated their conversion. From 1996 to 1998 he headed the NATO TERPS cell in Bosnia-Herzegovina , which calculated and published the instrument approach procedures, and was ultimately involved in the development of civil structures for the aviation authority there.

Fecker was then transferred to the air traffic control office of the Bundeswehr , where, in addition to his work in regulations and licensing, he also took a place in several working groups at EUROCONTROL in which the future of European airspace is planned.

Andreas Fecker is married and lived in Konstanz until 1972 and in Allgäu since 2014. He publishes novels and non-fiction books, especially on aviation . He received the Hugo Junkers Prize 2013 for his book "Aircraft noise - data and facts" .

Since June 2013, Fecker has had its own aviation column in the airport magazine airportzentrale.de. Once a week, Andreas Fecker tells stories from the aviation industry and provides information on aviation topics.
