Andreas Hellmann

Andreas Hellmann (born April 18, 1952 in Augsburg ) is a German doctor and medical officer.

Hellmann is a specialist in pulmonology , internal medicine, allergology, sports, social and environmental medicine. Until March 2011 he was chairman of the representative assembly of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV) as the successor to Heinz-Michael Mörlein, who died in October 2006 .

Until the end of 2010 he was regional board member of the Bavarian Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians for the Swabian region. He is also chairman of the board of the Federal Association of Pulmonologists and a member of the board of the German Society for Pneumology.

Hellmann is particularly committed to environmental protection. He is a member of numerous environmental medical organizations and holder of the environmental protection award of the Federal Environment and Nature Conservation Germany ( BUND ).

From 1971 to 1990 Hellmann was a multiple German swimming champion and competed for the Federal Republic of Germany at the 1972 Olympic Games. He is married and has two daughters.
