Andreas Hepp

Andreas Hepp (* 1970 ) is a professor in the research area Communication and Media Studies at the University of Bremen .

biography

Andreas Hepp is professor of communication and media studies with a focus on media culture and communication theory at the Center for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI) and at the Institute for Historical Journalism, Communication and Media Studies (IPKM) at the University of Bremen .

From 1995 to 1997, Hepp worked at the University of Trier as a research assistant in the project Talking About Television , which was funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) . In 1999 he was a research assistant at the University of Karlsruhe at the Interfacultative Institute for Applied Cultural Studies (IAK) and from 1999 to 2003 first research assistant or assistant at the Institute for Media and Communication Studies (IfMK) at the TU Ilmenau . As a guest Hepp has among others at Goldsmiths College of the University of London , at the Nottingham Trent University and the University of Sunderland taught and researched. In 2003/04 he was a professor for communication studies with a focus on media sociology and media psychology at the Institute for Communication Studies at the Wilhelms University of Münster .

In 2004/05, Hepp was junior professor for the cultural significance of digital media and from 2005 to 2010 professor for communication studies at the University of Bremen. Since 2011 he has been the speaker of the ZeMKI. Andreas Hepp is co-initiator and project manager in the priority program 1505 "Mediatized Worlds" funded by the DFG and was part of the project leader in the Sfb 597 "Statehood in Transition", also funded by the DFG. He is also involved in the research network "Communicative Figurations".
