Andreas Kollross

Andreas Kollross (born January 8, 1971 in Trumau , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian politician of the Social Democratic Party ( SPÖ ). He has been the mayor of his home town since June 2013 and a member of the National Council since November 2017 .

Life

After completing compulsory school, Kollross began an apprenticeship as an electrician. His interests soon led him to politics. From 1989 to 1992 he was chairman of the Socialist Youth Trumau. In 1993 he was elected their state chairman. From 2000 to 2004 he was federal chairman. From 1995 to 2003 he was councilor of the market town of Trumau, from 1998 as managing councilor. He achieved a certain level of awareness through his commitment to Kinderfreunde , of which he has been chairman of Trumau since 1995. In October 2004 he became regional chairman in Lower Austria. Since November 2005 he has been Deputy Federal Chairman.

On May 17, 2013 it was announced that Andreas Kollross would be elected as the successor to the long-time Mayor of Trumau, Otto Pendl , at the local council meeting on June 6, 2013 . In the municipal council meeting on June 6, 2013, he was unanimously elected mayor of the market town of Trumau by all parties represented in the municipal council.

In the 2015 municipal council elections, he and the SPÖ were first in the list in Trumau, an increase of 9.21 percent. The SPÖ Trumau was able to achieve a result of 74.82 percent (18 of 23 mandates). It was particularly noteworthy that out of 2,276 votes cast, he received 1,002 personal preference votes. This share of over 44 percent of personal preferential votes was by far a record in the Baden district. At the constituent meeting of the municipal council on February 11th, he was again the mayor of the market town of Trumau by a majority.

At the regular general assembly of the SPÖ district of Baden on November 28, 2016, he was elected district party chairman of the SPÖ Baden and the top candidate for the next national election. From November 9th 2017 he will represent in the XXVI. Legislative period the regional constituency Thermenregion in the Austrian National Council .
