Andreas Lindblom

Andreas Lindblom (born February 8, 1889 in Askeby in Östergötland , † March 22, 1977 ) was a Swedish art historian and university professor .

Life

As an art historian, Lindblom became the director of two museums from 1929 to 1955 after teaching at what is now Stockholm University , the Nordic Museum and the Skansen open-air museum . In the meantime he held visiting professorships at Harvard .

He concentrated his research on the Middle Ages of Sweden and the 18th century. In research on the Middle Ages he was concerned with the assignment of late Gothic sculptures in northern and northeastern Europe and created, among other things, the emergency name of the Imperialissima master .
