Andreas Meitzner

Andreas Meitzner (* 1956 in Bendorf ) is a German diplomat . From October 2017 to July 2019 he was Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom of Denmark .

Life

After graduating from the Kaiser-Karls-Gymnasium in Aachen in 1975, Meitzner studied law at the University of Bonn from 1975 to 1980 . After joining the Foreign Service in 1982, he worked at various locations. From 2015 to 2017 he was the permanent representative of the German ambassador to Russia .

Since October 21, 2017 he has been the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom of Denmark. His term in Copenhagen ended in July 2019 when he retired.
