Andreas Nielsen (politician, 1883)

Andreas Nielsen (born October 20, 1883 in Morsum on Sylt , † October 5, 1958 in Westerland on Sylt ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Nielsen, who was a coal merchant by profession, became a member of the SPD on May 1, 1904, where he was initially a permanent member of the city council and deputy mayor of Westerland. He was a member of the workers' council and was active in the resistance against the Kapp Putsch . After the Second World War he was mayor and from 1946 to 1951 mayor of the city of Westerland. Nielsen was a member of the first and second appointed Landtag of Schleswig-Holstein and from 1947 to 1950 of the elected Landtag of Schleswig-Holstein . He was directly elected in the constituency of Niebüll.
