Andreas Nikolai de Saint-Aubain

Andreas Nikolai de Saint-Aubain (born November 18, 1798 in Copenhagen , † November 25, 1865 there ) was a Danish writer .

Pseudonym and spellings

Saint-Aubain wrote under the pseudonym Carl Bernhard ; in German translations there is also Karl Bernhard as the author's name , not identical to the German engineer Karl Bernhard . Numerous book editions, citations and library catalogs show different spellings of the real name: for Andreas also André, for Nikolai also Nicolai, Nicolas or without a middle name, for Saint-Aubain also Saint-Aubin. The Danish Royal Library uses AN de Saint-Aubain , the Encyclopaedia Britannica online Andreas de Saint-Aubin , the Scandinavian Studies branch library of the Humboldt University of Berlin Andreas Nicolai deSaint-Aubain . The spelling chosen here follows the 11th edition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica from 1911.
