Andreas Nommensen

Andreas Nommensen (* 1975 ) is a German American football coach and former player.

career

From 1998 to 2006 Nommensen played for the Hamburg Blue Devils on the tight end position . He won the German championship with the devils in 2001, 2002 and 2003, and with Hamburg he was also the 1998 Eurobowl winner. He played with the Blue Devils until 2006, then with the Hamburg Eagles . He was part of the German national team at the 2007 World Cup.

Nommensen was a member of the coaching staff of the Blue Devils until 2008, and from the 2009 season he joined the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes as a coach for the tight-end position . He stayed in Kiel until the end of the 2014 season . In 2015 he switched to the Hamburg Huskies . In addition to his activities at club level, Nommensen was also a member of the coaching staff of the French national team from 2015 and won gold at the 2017 World Games with a final victory over Germany . Nommensen was also part of the national team's coaching staff at the 2018 European Championship , where France won the title.

In 2017 Nommensen went to the Elmshorn Fighting Pirates and took over the coordination of the attack game on the staff of head coach Jörn Maier . In 2017 Nommensen rose to the second division with Elmshorn, and in March 2018 he was named “Maker of the Year” by A. Beig-Verlag at the athlete's award. In 2019, Nommensen contributed as a member of the coaching staff to Elmshorn's first promotion to the top German division, the GFL .
