Andreas Odenthal

Andreas Odenthal (born January 24, 1963 in Cologne ) is a German theologian .

Life

Odenthal studied Catholic theology and philosophy in Bonn and Freiburg from 1982 to 1987 , and German studies , philosophy and education at the University of Bonn from 1990 to 1994 . After completing his doctorate in liturgical science , Andreas Odenthal entered the Cologne seminary in 1994 . In 1995 he was ordained a deacon . Odenthal is a member of the Society for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy and began training as a cultural psychoanalyst in 1995 , which he completed in 2003. He was ordained a priest in 1996. Odenthal completed his habilitation in 2002 and took up his professorship at the Fulda Faculty of Theology in the same year . In 2004 he also received a teaching position at the Philosophical-Theological University of Sankt Georgen and at the University of Tübingen . 2006 followed reputation on the Chair liturgy of the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Tuebingen. In 2011 Odenthal signed the memorandum Church 2011: A Necessary Awakening . Since 2018 he has been professor of liturgical science at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and a Catholic university preacher.
