Andreas Orosz (* 1960 in Giessen ) is a German painter of realism .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1979, Andreas Orosz first studied art history in Giessen, from 1981 to 1985 English and art education at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz ( Bernd Schwering's painting class ), and finally, until 1990, free art (painting) at the same institute. A first exhibition took place in 1984. Landscapes, interiors and new forms of still life are at the center of his realistic painting .

Orosz lives and works in Wiesbaden.

Artistic development

Reviewing the works created between 1982 and 2007 reveals a gradual shift of his artistic perception from the inside to the outside, from the private sphere to the public, whereby he continues to take up the subjects he had once developed. Orosz begins with still lifes that are shaped by personal (everyday) experience (“washing machine”, 1985), then leaves the domestic setting (“Cassa Parlante”, 1989/90), i. In other words, motifs such as “Garage” (1990) or “Flower Shop” (1992) appear. His first cityscape was created in 1994 with “Pitigliano”. His most elaborate painting to date, “Queensborobridge” (1999–2001), also belongs to this thematic area. From 1997 Orosz increasingly paints natural landscapes, u. a. a series of snow images.
