Andreas Pabst

Andreas Pabst (born July 28, 1979 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a German conductor, pianist and arranger.

Life

Andreas Pabst was born in Karl-Marx-Stadt in 1979. He received his musical stamp in the Dresden Kreuzchor . From 2000 to 2005 he studied conducting and piano at the "Carl Maria von Weber" Academy of Music in Dresden . During his studies he conducted several choral symphonic concerts and worked with various Saxon vocal ensembles and orchestras.

During his studies he was hired as music supervisor on the cruise ship AIDAcara and directed the choir recordings for the rock band Rammstein's album "Reise, Reise".

He then worked as a répétiteur and director of the children's choir at the Leipzig Opera and held a teaching position for choral conducting at the Dresden Music Academy. Following his training, he was hired as a conductor and rehearsal pianist at the Colosseum Theater Essen for the original production of the “Phantom of the Opera”. From August 2008 to January 2010 he was artistic director of the choir academy at the Dortmund Concert Hall for the Essen and Gelsenkirchen branches. He is a regular guest at the United Theaters in Bolzano and worked as assistant to the musical director / pianist in the productions "Jekyll and Hyde", "Into the woods" and "La cage aux folles", "Hair" and "My Fair Lady" .

Since 2012 he has been the artistic director of the Singakademie Chemnitz, from September 2015 he will also head the Singakademie Plauen. As musical director and arranger, he is largely responsible for the "Musical Non Stop" tour, which in 2015 was again played 4 times in front of sold-out houses in South Tyrol. He writes arrangements for symphony orchestras such as B. the Vogtlandphilharmonie Greiz Reichenbach, choirs, ensembles and bands.

From December 2012 he worked as a rehearsal pianist and 3rd conductor in the production TANZ DER VAMPIRE at the Theater des Westens in Berlin, assisted the musical director of the production “DER KLEINE HORRORLADEN” and “CATCH ME IF YOU CAN” at the Dresden State Operetta and worked until September 2014 as musical director and arranger at the German premiere of the musical "DIE SCHWARZEN BROTHER". In the current season, he is employed as assistant to the musical director of the musical "CHESS" at the Chemnitz Theater. He will also be the artistic director of the Plauen Singing Academy.
