Andreas Rahm (born January 27, 1967 in Kaiserslautern ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and an elected member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .

biography

Andreas Rahm completed training as a banker from 1983 to 1986 and from 1991 to 1993 further training as a savings bank specialist. Before joining the state parliament, he worked as branch manager of the Sparkasse Kaiserslautern- Erfenbach .

He is married and has two children.

Party and politics

Rahm has been a member of the SPD since 1989. From 2001 to 2004 he was the mayor of the Erzhütten-Wiesenthalerhof district , of which he had been a member since 1991. In 2004 he was elected to the Kaiserslautern city council and in 2007 took over the chairmanship of the SPD parliamentary group. In the state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate in 2016 , Rahm won the direct mandate in the Kaiserslautern I constituency . In the state parliament he is a full member of the committee for equality and the advancement of women as well as the committee for the environment, energy, nutrition and forestry.

He is also a member of Ver.di, various foundations, supervisory boards and associations.
