history
In 1928 Andreas Schmid founded the transport company of the same name in Augsburg. What began as a classic haulage company, developed under the leadership of the company's founder's daughter, Vevi Kolb, into a large forwarding company in Bavarian Swabia . The company's growth soon made it necessary to move to a larger area on Augsburger Strasse in Gersthofen. The current company headquarters in Gersthofener Andreas-Schmid-Straße were moved into in 1980. In 2001 the group of companies was converted into an AG.
structure
The Andreas Schmid Group has stakes in several subsidiaries and joint ventures , including Quentia GmbH, AS Logcare, Bavarian Logistics Solutions GmbH and the AK Foundation. In 1995, he joined the second largest German general cargo cooperation IDS as a partner . The company was also involved in founding the private parcel service German Parcel in 1988 together with other medium-sized transport companies. In 2008, Treff Transport GmbH & Co. KG, Buchdorf, was taken over by Andreas Schmid Logistik.
Quentia
In 2000, the company's own IT company LogIn & Solutions was founded. In 2004, Andreas Schmid took a stake in the IT company Quentia GmbH based in Ravensburg, which was 100% taken over in 2009. LogIn und Solutions AG was then run together with Quentia GmbH under the name Quentia AG. In August 2012 the company was renamed Quentia GmbH.
Bavarian Logistics Solutions
In 2005, Andreas Schmid Logistik AG and Senator International Spedition GmbH founded the joint venture BLS (Bavarian Logistics Solutions). The amalgamation of the joint product portfolio made it possible to offer complex logistical services with a global focus on the market.
AS Logcare
In 2008, Andreas Schmid Logistik and Argo Personal Service founded the A / S Logcare joint venture. The task of this joint company is to train and place employees for the logistics industry.
Locations
In 2000 the general cargo terminal with an area of 9,000 m² at the company headquarters in Gersthofen was put into operation. Additional logistics space at the company's headquarters in Gersthofen was created in 2004 with the construction of a further logistics center.
Another logistics center was built in Kadaň , Czech Republic in 2006 and expanded in 2011.
In 2008, Andreas Schmid Logistik opened a high-tech logistics center in Augsburg-Haunstetten for Fujitsu Siemens Computers.
In 2011, Andreas Schmid Logistik AG opened a competence center for integrated contract logistics solutions in Nürtingen, Baden-Württemberg.
