Andreas Stampler

Andreas Stampler (born November 20, 1897 in Gratwein ; † January 12, 1958 in Graz ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and locksmith. From 1945 to 1958 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Stampler attended elementary school and worked as a locksmith. After his unemployment, he worked from 1928 to 1934 as the state secretary of the Styrian metal and miners' union and was an official of the Graz district health insurance fund. Due to his political activities and as a result of the Austrian Civil War , he was again unemployed from 1934 to 1938. Stampler later worked again as a locksmith.

Stampler was active as a board member of the Social Democratic Party in Graz between 1928 and 1934 and was a works council in the metal workers' association. In 1934 he was taken into political custody and protective custody, after the Nazis came to power he was imprisoned between 1938 and 1940 for preparing for high treason. Stampler represented the SPÖ between December 19, 1945 and his death in the National Council.
