Andreas Thomas Schüller

Andreas Thomas Schüller (born May 27, 1957 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a German painter, graphic artist, gallery owner, author and publisher.

biography

Schüller is a trained toolmaker and worked in this profession until 1982. He has been artistically active since 1980. He attended the Karl-Marx-Stadt adult education center in the subjects of graphics and font design. From 1982 he was a lighting technician at the Städtisches Theater Karl-Marx-Stadt. Since 1985 he has been working as a freelance painter / graphic artist. In 1987 he was accepted into the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR . His mentor was Heinz Tetzner . From 1987 to 1988, Schüller organized around 20 exhibitions by artist friends in his own studio. Activities recorded and observed by the MfS under the file name “Boycott”. Out of this experience, the art association Laterne was founded in 1991 , which runs the gallery of the same name and publishes an art magazine of the same name. Literary texts as well as text-image compilations appeared there and in own editions, u. a. 2001 the novel "Babuschka".
